Internationally recognized human rights activist, gender trainer and a senior journalist with more than 25 years experience in the Middle East and North Africa.

Author of three books, including Threads of Resilience - Stories of Labor and Survival among Syrian Women Refugees in Jordan, the book documents the extraordinary journeys of Syrian refugee women in Jordan. The book was released in Arabic and English in 2026. In 2021, Husseini released her second book in Arabic and English, Years of Struggle – The Women’s Movement in Jordan, which documents the history of women’s activism in the Kingdom for the past 80 years.  The book was released in Arabic and English in 2021. The third book is on so-called honour killings in the world and is entitled Murder in the Name of Honour. Extensive experience in investigative journalism, research and activism on human rights abuses affecting women in the MENA region; most recently as a senior reporter with The Jordan Times and certified trainer of journalists for reputable institutes such as the Jordanian Media Institute, IREX, Journalists for Human Rights (JHR) and UNFPA. Proven abilities as a program coordinator, media consultant, manager of international projects and networks of contacts with organizations such as UN Women, Equality Now, and Freedom House. Participated in two National Democratic Institute (NDI) election monitoring missions in the United States and Morocco. A gifted public speaker and lecturer frequently invited to speak at venues such as TEDx talks and Model United Nations (MUN) in Jordan, Asia, Europe, South America, the United States, and the Middle East. Interviewed by hundreds of networks including the BBC, CNN, Sky, DW, ABC and Arabic language media. Winner of several awards, including a medal from HM King Abdullah II of Jordan for work on women and human rights, the Human Rights Watch Award for reporting and activism, the Reebok Human Rights Award and more recently the distinguished Arab Women of the Year Awards 2019 for social impact.
